Small technical details are rarely of interest to a wife. Updating and upgrading the new computer may be important to you but it should be done when your wife is not arround.
After my wife got her new computer she of course wanted to use it. I wanted to make sure everything was up to date and protected. This lead to conflict when I tried to install updates during a time that she was needing to use it.
I won the conflict by appleaing to her logic and telling her that a little maintainance now would save more time later. She begrudgingly agreed but reminded me that I could update the computer while she was at work. So now I do.
